Element 1 Guiding Principles
• Interpreting Expressions
.». Opening
In the Practice you will find the Expressions take on many forms. Some are mantras for you to use during meditation or questions (exercises) for you to interact with where others are the knowledge you transform to wisdom. The intention’s of the Expressions are broad as they are the foundation of this Practice. Here you will find different ways to interact with the Practice Expressions.
Beyond the Expressions you can apply the information from this Topic to anything you learn or experience as a way to integrate that knowledge into your Being (creating wisdom).
.». Different ways to interact with the Expressions of the Practice:
» Read it
» Think about it
» Try to prove it
» Let go of negative around it
» Contemplate it
» Meditate on it
» Feel it
» Be with it
» Live it

Simple ways to interact with the Expressions:
» Read it.
Read the Expression as a way to take it in. The simplest way to interact with an Expression.
» Think about it.
This would be the intellectual way of interpreting an Expression. We might ask questions to ourselves as a way to figure it out. It is in thinking about the Expression that we formulate our perception of it, this may not be reality. The same way the beliefs we have of our self may not be reality (S1. Reality). Our thoughts can also be affected by the ego and collective (un)consciousness.
» Try to prove it.
One way to prove it is to look for a result. As humans we at times do things to get a result a predicted outcome is this right? If no then what’s the point? Why. For example you might say if I do this what will be the outcome (S1. Foundational Principal, » Proof is unnecessary). Trying to prove something right or wrong, true or false, yes or no is a typical approach we take when looking at something new that is not immediately understood and living out a dualistic (S1. Duality) lifestyle.
Further along our evolutionary path:
» Let go of negative around it.
We can at times project negative perceptions onto something we don’t understand. By letting go of the negative (around something we don’t understand) we open up to possibility (S12. Possibility) and we open up space to know. With something that is new and not understood the ego may attempt to make it seem negative, bad or wrong. By letting go of this perception we also let go of the ego. Rather than wrong we may simple realize this is not for us. We may also open up to a new way of being that initially we didn’t understand. See also (S11. Space), (S4. To Know).
» Contemplate it.
A little deeper than thinking not quite as deep as meditation. When contemplating you typically remain aware of your current environment where with meditation you may drift away from sensing your physical environment. You are meant to contemplate the Practice Expressions.
» Meditate on it.
Using meditation to seek understanding, knowing around an Expression (S4. Understanding, Knowing). Your minds ability to process information plays a part in your ability to contemplate this information. This idea brings forth the power of mediation as a means to change your life beyond solely relying on the mind. At times simply read the work with an open and uncluttered mind allowing it to change you rather than thinking it (figuring it out) or contemplating it; in essence the precursor to feeling it.
The deeper way to be in this World:
» Feel it.
Look for the feeling under the words (E1. The Words). When you feel (S4. To Feel) an Expression, possibly from the Heart, then you will Know.
» Be with it.
Integrate the Expression into your Being. Being relates to our essence (S7. Essence) the all encompassing you.
» Live it.
The practical application of the Expression, the practical expression of life. The physical application of it, day to day. Applying it to your daily life (S5. Action). This is to be while doing (S1. Do Be Create).
The first Grouping Read it, Think about it and Try to prove it are your basic ways to interact with an Expression, with life rooted in perception and proof. This way of interacting embraces thought. As you move through the second Grouping Let go of negative around it, Contemplate it and Meditate on it you start to get a deeper sense of the Universe, possibly there is something else out there. This can be the transition from figuring out and receiving answers to solutions (S3. Solutions). The third Grouping Feel it, Be with it and Live it are the deeper expression of love and life. This is the coming together and practical application of the work, the unifying of the practical and Spiritual (within your Being, E2. Alignment Posture) along with the actions that follow.
.». To Practice
» As an exercise looking at any thing you learn and experience, how far along the 9 aforementioned steps do you integrate that learning into your Being, life?
.». Expressions
» To be present with an Expression is to feel it is to know it.
Essentially an Expression about the Practice Expressions.
» The journey of interpreting Expressions from read it to live it parallels the journey through the ego to The You (S11. The You).
» An element of prove it is to prove it to others disguised as sharing.
Rather than live it (integrate it) the ego throws you a bone so to speak and says “yes you get it, tell them how they don’t understand”. Rather than live the miracle (of living it) you create confrontation with others.
.». Examples
When looking at something new we naturally try to compare it to our level of consciousness and if it is not matching then there is a choice to make. Some will see the work as wrong, some see it’s not for them and some see the potential for growth plus probably a myriad of other different scenarios, maybe these are the three prominent ones. Some see the potential to evolve some the potential to criticize.
Note: If someone handed me a Physics equation and said “this is going to change the way we view the Universe” I would likely see numbers and symbols only. Though I don’t understand the equation this does not make it wrong. You have to decide how to interact with this Practice.
Below is a small glimpse of the intentions of the Practice Expressions. There are Topics for each of these.
» To help you to feel
» To love
» To know and know yourself
» To nurture your relationships
» To be present
» To open up space to receive
» To live centered and connected
» To live without need
» To allow
» To be free from pain
» To notice
» To be at peace
» To action
» To live out your internal faith…
Note: Did you read this list or skim it? I while proofreading this Topic started to skim it, I already know all this right??? Then I stopped, took a breath and slowly read. I felt better after. What is your intention for taking that next breath, to get something done or to live life, to… (your answer)?
