Poem
• The Winter Trees
The barren sticks
of the winter trees
Cast across the twilight sky
Through the mind’s eye
I witness the day come to close
The night takes over
Full of darkness and possibility
One by one the stars appear
Fading in and out as the clouds pass by
Without agenda those same stars remind
There is something greater
Beyond the trees, beyond the sky
Even beyond the stars themselves
What is that something
What is that calling
Beyond the rational
That reminder to be more than possibility itself
The stars
The heavens
The light beyond the imagination
Ask it not as a question
Know it not as an answer
Feel it as the great divine
in your heart
