Source 11 You Looking Inward and The Body
• Your Will
.». Opening
Are you ready to live? Are you waiting for something outside of yourself, possibly the person, money, job or even maybe the Universe to tell you what to do? It can be challenging to look inside (of you) for your happiness. One place to start is your will to live (fully).
Are you ready to thrive, do you know that you are, are not (thriving)? The will to thrive is a choice. The awareness alone that you can in fact thrive and that it’s up to you can make a difference in your life. Doing, being the work will too.
Note: You may notice in the Practice “can you” as a question is frequently replaced with will you. Typically you can, the question, choice is will you… Will is your choice.
.». To Practice
» Ask; are you living or is life something being done to you?
Are your reasons: excuses, problems or opportunities (to change)? Releasing victim is the primary action to: enhancing your will, the stepping off the path of thinking you can’t, that life is set and lacking choice. You can start with the contraction in your body (if you have that) and onto the thoughts in your head. S3. Supporting Yourself is also a nice place to put energy around the part you play in your life.
You might like to contemplate; why aren’t you doing well, thriving?
Note: What I heard was that I am unwilling to change (anything really). That is a place to start. Sometimes it feels like it’s not my choice, that life is happening to me. That is the whole point of will, in some ways it is happening to you and it’s your will that moves you out of this way of life, it’s your will you are to change (strengthen).
» What do you want out of life?
Put your will into this. Clear your vision to what you want and the actions will unfold before you. It’s easy to rattle off a list but truly feel what you want and realize sitting here (just reading this) will not be enough. It will take some sort of action, some sort of plan, some understanding and knowing. And miracles and luck happen too yet action attracts energy. Be clear in your goals and dreams then plans and intentions followed through by action… and if you don’t already have it then something will have to change (are you truly open to changing). Action can be internal too, such as clearing away the thoughts of the distracted mind.
Note: I heard someone say; sometimes the mental obstacles stop you from doing miracles. Have you ever heard someone say “what I want is to be nervous”? The distracting thoughts are limiting your will from enhancing your life.
A few steps to assist with living out your will:
1. Don’t do any of it from a place of need.
“I need a new..”. Stay out of this space. Not needy, not desperate independent of how it is going. Need usually brings on rushing, missing opportunities and is associated with fear. You can be attentive, concerned, proactive, sense of urgency… just not needy.
2. Take ownership of the process.
People will tell you stuff, recommendations, you will read information, etc.. Take ownership of the process, it’s your life after all. Say someone recommends “you should do..”. Don’t do it (or not do it) because of the recommendation. Do it because you feel this is the path for you. Allow them to spark your actions with the key being your actions (responsible). The process eventually becomes your life.
Note: I had a human design reading and a lot of it was positive. Rather than living I spent time waiting for life to happen. This was counter to what the reading really was saying, counter to what this process suggests. No matter what, if someone or something tells you this or that about yourself, your direction and path decide if it feels true and decide consciously to live that way, your way.
Others may also try to make you feel bad about the given situation. Possibly it is sad or difficult, unfortunate from one point of view. You can still make the most of your life and move forward. Taking time to grieve is important and so is living. The situation may be sad and you may be sad for a time but you don’t have to stay there or let others bring you down about it.
Note: I spent a Thanksgiving alone. It’s not how I wanted the holiday to go but the truth is I had a nice day. Someone asked me about my day and it felt like they were trying to make me sad for being alone. Take ownership of the process, the process eventually becomes your life.
Furthermore the ego may tell you “I already do this”. Look within, are all your decisions truly your own? If you ever find yourself rushing (S2. Rushing) then the answer is likely no.
3. Seek out help.
Chances are what you want is external (to you). You likely will require external help, and resources. Allow them to help you. Could be the person interviewing you, could be the sales clerk selling you the item, allow them to help you. At it’s core it’s to not fight it but it goes deeper than that. Allow them to help you (regardless of the situation). As you let go of need this will become more relevant.
4. Make being happy part of the intention for your action.
Relieving stress can be a step to being happy. You can ask; how will this action help me to be happy. If happy is not something you are interested in then that could be a place to contemplate.
Note: You may have to do something challenging, could be your “job”, could be changing a diaper. The thought might be “I’ll be happy when it’s done”. This can be you losing the present moment. Initially you may see happy as something that happens after (as a first step). Allow the action to be a path to your happiness, then it all interconnects. Realize there is a life beyond this way of thinking… being.
5. Ask: how does this action move my life forward?
This is the one you will likely move away from first but will provide the greatest benefit against distractions when you ask and answer honestly. If you struggle with staying focused this can help to align your actions with your life intentions.
For those who feel stuck and don’t know what to do this can be a place to start, to keep putting yourself in the work. For those further along this can be that little tool to overcome the latest challenge versus distracting from life.
Note: While writing I would often look at something I wanted. The writing at times was challenging and the distraction I thought helped. In time I moved away from it being a distraction, embraced the process (my life). I realized to go face my fear and on to live that which I was dreaming of rather than looking for a distraction from writing (life).
6. Open the space for that which you aspire to.
You may want it but is there space for it (in your life). Are you really open to it (happening)? You could start with; do you believe it’s possible, and on to; is that truly what you want? What you want will always change, but you are to do something. Be open to it (now) and open to it changing (then) free of regret.
Note: Simple example say you want to travel but don’t like flying. The space would be to let go of that fear of flying or similarly to explore alternative ways to travel (like by boat).
Sometimes the situation is not so simple and we hide the answer (why) from ourselves. This is where the work can help, where seeking out interactions with others can help. Often we live a duality of the person we would like to be and the person we are. Our current situation may dictate we be that person while leaving that situation is also not easy (at times).
You can persists where you are, you can change your life. Slowly changing is ok too, as long as there is progress. Without it there will be nudges from the Universe (even with the progress there will be nudges). There is a drive by the Universe to change and you are part of this Universe.
Beyond “want” is the life you would like to lead. You can start out with want, even need yet as you evolve you will live past these (desire too). S10. From Need to Service talks about the journey from need, to-want, to-desire, to-like-to-have, to-open-to-space-for and beyond…
» Would you want it (truly) any different than it is now?
If it could all go away, all the problems and stress would you want that? Some might jump to say “YES” until they feel into the cause of the stress. Could be situations they want (like a project they are creating, starting a family, pursuing a dream). Maybe it’s just a really bad situation (like a specific job or coworker). It’s unlikely to completely “go away” in your life. The action (S5. Action) is to look at how you are through the situation which at times is a direct result of your will. Look deeply-to what is the cause of the stress. This is to connect in with the energy of the stress, which is the energy to use for living positively.
When all those things you are dreaming of come does the stress go away? Your will to change, to live beyond the “stress” determines the life you live. Even still, if it could ease just a little at times this could be enough to give that breather to open the space. This is our ask (S6. Ask God for Help) at times.
Taking into account your current level of: effort, strength and desire for change would you want it (to be) any different than it is? Not the outcome, the current situation. Possibly you have some work to do, to increase your levels of: effort, strength and openness to change. Change these and your situations will change.
Note: I frequently ask the question ‘does the work (process) work’? Yet when I look at the level of commitment, belief, faith, trust (I am living) the question ultimately turns back to me and my will..
If the pushing (S3. Support) from the Universe is momentarily not there are you willingly thriving or falling deeper into mediocrity?
How would it be if it all came to you, would you end up living an inspired or uninspired (egoic) life?
If your current challenges go away where does your energy go, complacency or bliss (joy)?
To live the positive of each of these questions takes your will.
It doesn’t always have to be about working really really hard though. The balance is doing the work, receiving support, evolving as a human. When you get to the point where you can honestly say to yourself yes I would like it to be different, that you have an understanding of what it would (could) feel like (success) then you can truly (easily) say I would like it different. You would like the next step, phase, way of being. This is to ask for it to be changed for you rather than a change you make, this is the path to receiving.
Note: The quick feeling I had was something to do with love. Embrace love and this confusion goes away. Yet it’s not just about love, awareness is required too, awareness to ask.
I’m happy with my level of effort and would like help. The trick is to realize help is available before your are ready (S2. Ready) and navigating the balance between will and help (receiving). How to receive help but not have it done for you, that’s the question of your life, that’s the journey of evolving.
Note: Hint; you realize you are controlling it (the change, receiving) through your connection to the Universe. Also see that for it to “go away” something will have to change. We typically resist change especially if it’s going “ok”. Another paradox of humankind, resisting change yet wanting something different than now. To participate in the change is to embrace why we are here (one reason) to evolve-change-grow. In participating you receive and do.
» + The words can be used to “clear this” or “fix that”, to remove a bad habit. Will you use the words to create.
Let your will be to use the words (impetus) to create. As you journey through the process you will read more and more about the philosophy (of the Practice) of how we are here to create. Create the work (that you use to evolve), create the product that is your beautiful life (E3. Intention).
Note: For me, felt very powerful the night this came through. I kept repeating will you use the words to create.
May be seen as a mandate? Goes with the idea of teaching people to feel beyond their perceptions. Beyond our perceptions is creating (reality, feeling, energy).
» Will you… (You say it, like a question).
Will you what? That is the question. Ultimately the question is will you live, fully essentially.
+ I will.
Declaring your will the same as you do in the E2. Alignment posture, I can do this. One point of this Expression is to connect in with another Topic of the process. And the point of all that is to connect you in (deeply) with life. I could spend hours writing this process (and do) yet the point of it all is to go out and live. You might spend hours reading this process yet the point is for you to go out and live. Use what you learn plus your will (to live) to go thrive. A little bit of knowledge, a lot of action (creating wisdom) and a whole lot of living. Will you… I will. You can declare as well: It’s my will to live. In essence beyond the fear.
.». Expressions
To live:
» Where does the desire to live come from when not need?
+ Will.
This is essentially will defined. Will is your embracing of life beyond need. When your dependencies (S1. Dependencies) are not driving the life then more of your will is at the fore. Well beyond need is joy (E3. Joy). See too the importance of dreaming (S10. To Dream) yet dreaming doesn’t fully engage your will. You can sit there dreaming yet to engage your will takes action (from The You). Your will to live is action.
This will change your life. Possibly you have felt it in those moments where there was something to do and there was resistance. Resistance to do the activity yet more so resistance to life. It’s easier when there is something driving your actions, like need. When you have to get up and go to work discipline kicks in and you do what you have to do. When need is gone your true self (level) surfaces, it may be shocking to see who you really are. You possibly get a slight glimpse on your days off though it really takes some time for You to show beyond the need.
Open to the opportunity to find your will. Start with surrendering your need for pain (S12. Surrender). Then a little energy towards receiving. Don’t try to fool the Universe thinking you can manipulate so you can find your will. “I need some time off so I can find my will”, it’s not like that. Yet if you came to this idea you are closer to figuring it out, to life beyond need. Then there is awareness.
» There is no need in love.
This makes love so hard to go after when your will is low (weak if you will). You can live without love (only) existing. So when super busy or dealing with a situation (internal problem) and working so hard to make life work love takes a back seat as need is not pushing you towards love. All the distractions from that which you “need” pull you away from love too. As a dependency we do need love yet this need is different than say your base dependencies or need in other aspects of your life. Realize the connection of love and will, as one increase so to the other.
» + Notice something beautiful, in that beauty you will find the will to live.
When a complete act that beauty will inspire you to action. When you shy away from opportunities then your will is a place to look to strengthen. You have it in you to live, receive. The key is the work you do over here (away from the beauty of that moment). It’s great to live in bliss (E3. Joy) yet it takes work, action too.
Note: Sometimes doing simple tasks like brushing your teeth before you lay down to relax (and subsequently fall asleep) will help you to action during those moments you typically shy away from. The work you do over here will expand how you are over there. All the moments of your life are interconnected (it’s all simply You) and build on each other. Positively and negatively.
» Life, no one can do it for you.
This is your will to live, to live life. You can get help yet no one, not your essence, not the Universe nor God (S11. Your True Relationships) can do it for you. How you live is a direct result of your will to live. It’s great to seek out help and support yet eventually you have to be the one to live your life, to have the will to live. Seek out help to strengthen your will, this is to recognize you are not on this journey alone. A circular relationship between your will and external help feeding your will allowing you to realize (to) ask for more help (S6. Different Ways to Ask).
» I’d like to change my life.
I’m willing to change my life is the next iteration.
Most of us would like to change our lives even if just a small way, usually adding something (like more: free time, money, friends). Are you willing to? This takes action, concerted action. It’s easy to change your life for one moment, to link the moments together takes your will. Couple your will with inspiration and broader change occurs.
Note: Personally I had this feeling of I’d like to change my life come one evening, driven by my frustration (S1. Frustration) over my situation. For me it really defined will.
It’s easy to say but it takes your will (action) to change and sustain change. Will can start with that internal feeling. First that something is “wrong” (which can lead you to trying to distract from the present moment). Then that you would like to change (S5. Change). Onto continued action, including allowing the missteps along the way to be and not derail you. Staying positive is an action.
» The will to live is your choice, nurture that will.
This life is a gift we are each given and how it plays out is your choice. Some talk of destiny, that it’s all preset. When you look at the Stars, Astrology and other systems it can appear true, that there is some sort of destiny to life. Underneath all that destiny is your will to live and that will is a choice. Is this choice to transcend your destiny (path)? In S1. Do Be Create we speak to the idea of creating the work to transcend your path. Thus your will is to create the work through which your life evolves.
Will you pause and contemplate: Your will is to create the work through which your life evolves? Were you able to generate a few ideas for the work you do that both moves your life forward and causes the evolving of your being? Part of the key to this is to create situations that challenge you, are fun and evoke evolving. Initially you may think of evolving as change. To come at life with this intention (to create the work to evolve) aligns with the intention of the Universe.
Note: I had the idea to create the situations (work) that took me out of my comfort zone, that put me out in life. Defining those situations as the ones that I want to live felt comforting rather than situations based on fear. Realize those situations are challenging yet also joyful, beautiful, thrilling. The idea is to keep putting yourself in the work (E3. Intention).
That work at different stages of your life could look like a family, an education, a career, a choice to not participate in an unevolved action (like violence), a practice or path you study or participate in. You will likely even create your own process, which could be your bringing together of others ideas plus your own. You are creating the work (life).
» + Nurture your spark, spark of life.
Nurture your will to live each day. Let this idea be at the forefront of your consciousness (S11. The Idea). But what does that mean to nurture your spark of life, to increase your will? Includes your health, your well being, your energy. The energy you emanate out and bring in (plus create) in contrast to the shadow (Source 2) you cast out (or don’t).
Sometimes simply feel the breeze on your neck, when you notice the moment you notice your spark (will). You may even hear (feel) I can do anything… In contrast to the time of this Galaxy we are part of our spark is but a moment. Yet that moment is important for each and every one of us and affects the Universe (your essence). Here you can focus your energy…
» +You provide the will the Universe provides the way, God provides…
More of life opens up as your will (to live) increases. This is to live beyond the pain, to live beyond the pushing, pulling, chasing, manipulating. Manipulating includes manipulating yourself (via the ego) too.
» Without your will you get pushed around by life.
Including by the many distractions of life (including fear), leaving you unable to focus inward. Yet to be (focus inward) it takes space (S11. Space) more than will. You can’t will yourself to consciousness, you are (be) consciousness. Your will takes you to the path of consciousness.
From S1. Foundational Wisdom, two different methods of living driven by will:
Darkness and Light balance: The answers (and questions) freely come, you can Feel, you are at peace, happy and healthy. You flow freely through space and time. You freely flow through your day, in and out of relationships with ease and grace. Your mind is clear, strong, powerful and at peace.
Shadow over your life: They cannot hear the questions or answers. They cannot Feel, there is pushing, pulling and chasing in their life. They are restless and ill, disconnected. They struggle with time, relationships and thoughts. The days are not their own, their mind is not their own.
Note: For the Shadow version we use “they” rather than You. Start by reading with the idea this is how others might be living (“they”). Realize you may live this way at times and then place your energy and focus deeply into the first version, the positive way to be in the world. In S1. Foundational Wisdom we look at the idea of darkness not necessarily being the “bad” and rather it’s our shadow that is causing the pain of this world.
» + It is my will to…
Live. You might “think” it’s your will to do this or that. See your will as your will to live first, then focus on the how and then the what (stuff). What does it mean to live? This question (and answer) is prominent throughout the Practice. Start with realizing fear is the opposite of to live. Then give yourself permission to live, then live free. See: S2. Fear, E3. Intention, S10. Freedom to expand on this idea.
Note: It is my will to create this process. Not for the finished product, not for approval, not for (material) success, not to share it with others. Not for any “reason”. To live through the creation of this work is my will. It’s simply a medium (I’m using) to free myself. To share this work is a gift to me with the possibility of some external embracing. We are not meant to overlook the external success, the first step is to not need it though and then to embrace it.
You could place this book in front of you (closed) and receive everything you need to free (S10. Freedom) yourself. Not from the image on the cover nor the title, simply through the idea of everything is right there for you to evolve (change-grow) and that you are beyond need. Place your hand on the cover (or near the screen) and feel life… Once you capture this idea the object is irrelevant (immaterial) and more of life unfolds for you through your focused action (S11. Focused Greatness). The distractions become unnecessary as well and you realize the part you played in creating them.
Note: We include the word immaterial above to highlight how it defines as spiritual in value in contrast to practical or physical. We purposely highlight the spiritual path here as an idea to consider… Spiritual and will, alignment of the practical and spiritual takes your will.
To Thrive:
» Awareness of my will to thrive.
The work brings this awareness out in you. You’ve likely heard the word “thrive” yet to fully understand it is to live it (to Know it). This is to embrace the practical side of the work that evolves out of Spiritual connection.
» Are you open to thriving?
There is a lot that goes with thriving that is outside your current comfort zone. Consider thriving as a lifestyle. Know that this will push you to live, (push you) out of your comfort zone and into the light. This is to release victim, release doubt and be (live) worthy.
Note: It’s so ingrained in our systems (from the shadow of humankind) that we are meant to suffer, that life is hard and you have to work for every (God damn) thing. Life is hard but not the way you think. The way you think makes life painful (“hard”).
Do you believe you can thrive, that thriving is for you (available)? Your situation may be (what it is) yet do you feel (beyond belief) you can thrive? Faith and To Feel are both beyond belief (S1. Beyond Reason).
We are each born into certain ecosystems, this affects how our lives unfold (to a point). You may have to initially thrive through your current situation. As your will increases changes will occur to your situation, this can take time (S5. Cost).
» Don’t feel pressure to thrive.
It can at times feel like pressure (in your mind) that you “have to thrive”. “It’s going well, it’s going ok, is this is it, am I thriving”? Enjoy life, kind of all of it then you are not concerned with thriving, with the labeling of thriving. Conversely a focus on thriving can bring on awareness (of your life). Leading to less of those “why did I do that” moments.
» Will you allow yourself to thrive…
See how it is your will (dependent on) to thrive. Let your will be positive.
+ Declare your life, that you are alive.
I will…
See S5. Allow regarding the action of allowing and S12. Focus on the Positive regarding positive elements of your life.
» + The three levels of will.
Recognize there is a third level to will; thriving. Some give up their will to live, this will gets the most notice. Then there is simply living or the opposite of giving up the will to live which at times can be like mediocrity (though we sometimes don’t notice it as such). The third will is the will to thrive. The will to thrive is the opposite of victim mentality. Allow this text to be the reminder of the will to thrive. You may at times live and be happy, allow those moments to expand to where you are thriving. Your overall wellbeing and center is to thriving.
» It take a lot of courage to live (fully).
Cultivate your courage (S5. Courage) through your will, which yields connection.
» It’s not necessary to suffer through this process, it’s ok to thrive.
Process could be read as life.
Note: If (when) I were to embrace this Expression how might my life unfold? You would likely realize you still have to do the work, yet no longer arduously. This leads to that feeling (E3. Intention).
» + The will to thrive is to live beyond the pain, beyond victim.
+ The will to thrive is the releasing of the victim (and self sabotage) mentality.
You first may need to spend some time understanding where you are sabotaging your life and choosing to live as a victim (S2. Victim) to move past both behavior’s. Realize the sabotaging may be subtle (small) ways you don’t fully embrace life. If you do sabotage yourself you likely hide it from your consciousness, not realizing you are. Awareness is the first step, then action towards thriving. Then you release the need to look at these aspects of your life and rather choose (S10. Choice) to.
» Is success thriving?
No, success.
Yet thriving could be thought of as a success.
The thought would be the success is that you “achieved thriving”, the feeling beyond the thought is you thriving. You might wonder what is the difference between success and thriving? Subtle differences, don’t get lost in it. Success, thriving, living are for you. These differences are opportunities for you to feel life, to understand the subtitles of life. It’s noticing those little subtitles that bring opportunities to be, that provide the depth to life that sometimes goes unnoticed, that goes unrequested..
Success: More the journey, living the contrast of failures and success’s. The duality of success could be understood.
Thriving: Living it, you are (thriving). There is no duality to thriving, you are thriving or you are not? It’s not so much a duality as a realization. There is giving up, there is living in the norm (mediocrity) and there is thriving. Thriving connects to your will as it takes your will to thrive..
Note: Imagine while rushing you momentarily stop to notice the warm breeze on your neck. The pausing to notice could be seen as a success, (deeply) being the moment is thriving. Having the person that means the world to you in your life could be seen as success, noticing them on a daily basis is the thriving, taking them for granted (is) shadow.
One important realization of the difference could be seen as quality of life. Someone may have tremendous external “success” yet they may not be thriving (are unhappy, angry, unaware, letting the thoughts control them, etc..). Eventually the path of success and thriving intersect. It’s not that they become the same it’s that you arrive at that place to feel life.
» We’re thriving, even if our external environment doesn’t show it yet.
Embrace the feeling of this idea. Live into it and the external will change. It’s not “fake it till you make it”, it’s thrive internally and the external will arrive in greater fashion.
» The will to thrive is…
The creation of the work, the doing of the work, the being of the work.
Will you pause and contemplate: Creating, doing, being the work? We talk in the process how we are here to create including creating the work you do and be. The work you create changes your life from the inside out allowing you to thrive.
Pain:
Note: Be stronger than the pain. We don’t usually start a part grouping with a Note but for this one it felt advantageous. What does it mean to be stronger than the pain, how to make all this not just speak and nonsense. It means your flight is delayed, it means your child is crying and it means your life is happening and not all of it is pleasant. These events will likely occur all throughout your life, “why can’t I just meet someone”. You can buckle under the pressure, you can enhance your will and live through all your life (S5. Choice). Read each Expression with an openness to receive and the words will mean more (to you). Read each Expression purposely to embrace the moment (opportunity of).
» + Be stronger than the pain.
This is where you find the will, the executable will (inside you). Be stronger than the pain, stronger than the thoughts, stronger than the collective, stronger than the habit. Strength (in the Practice) comes though connection which is a product of the time you be (S6. Stillness).
Time as in moments not time on the clock. You could successfully be still for a second and strengthen your will.
Note: I could feel it in me. The reality was it’s primarily just the thoughts that were the cause of the pain. I could notice how little me there was and more of what was happening (what I was feeling) was a result of my surroundings and the fear I chose to live through them.
» + The thoughts are trying to get you to do.
Do anything (worry, build, go, move, stress, wait, hesitate, habit) against your will. The thoughts here are the ones that are not considered yours, the external influence affecting us all (S11. Thoughts).
» The mistake people make with will is to think this means to “push through”.
It’s quite the opposite. Will is to recognize to change. Then you realize how will is different than purely just effort. Making an uninformed effort is not the direction of will.
» Be stronger than the situation too.
Maybe things are overwhelming, look at your will as a place to manage the situation. Then realize you can’t always (manage) and will is just that will through the situation regardless of the outcome, amount there is to do, thoughts of hopelessness.
The ego will try to pull you in those situations too. It will use pain and thoughts to get you to have fear. To tell you to use (it) to resolve the situation, that this is the only way. Typically the anger (which can be from the frustration of living via the ego) will boil over. The more you feel the hopelessness the more you can recognize the ego. To affect you it has to show itself.
Note: I lived in a tiny camper with a Cat and it felt overwhelming at times (all of life felt overwhelming at times). I realized when I couldn’t immediately change my situation to use my will to live through it (versus trying to get out of it) and change. This wasn’t to “accept” the situation it was to realize the moment and change through it. This approach alleviates the anger and uses the energy of the frustration positively.
Imagine someone whose flight is delayed. They could declare “I’m never traveling again” but the reality is they are here in this situation and it’s their will now that determines their experience. Most of the time what is to change is you. As you embrace change so too will your situations per the costs (S5. Cost).
» + Stop looking for a test to prove it.
You are (strong enough inside). Looking for a test is the path of pain and proof (S1. Foundational Principles).
» Let your will to live overpower your fear to die, your need to suffer through fear (S10. Fear).
We look at releasing our need for pain in S12. Surrender and S2. Using Pain to Feel. It’s your will (dependent on) to release the pain. When it keeps happening over and over: learn to know yourself, strengthen your will and take action to change your view of yourself and what’s possible.
Note: At times I’m noticing my will over the pain.
» The pain of this world can demotivate.
You see it everyday, it’s easy to crawl back within; stop being, stop living and hide. It takes connection and strength, it takes your will too. To go out there and face the hopelessness of this world. To eventually realize the reality beyond perception. This world isn’t everything but it’s important and contains the truth to life. This is to free yourself from the victim mentality.
Note: You see some who are very much out in the world yet look at their actions, look at how they are; possibly hiding behind their ego as a way to survive. They may lack vulnerability, hiding internally who they truly are while always chasing something external.
» + Your view of yourself and what you are capable of is limiting you.
Change how you see yourself. How? Do the work, know yourself. It’s your will to change your life including the beliefs you have about yourself (how you see yourself). This is to relax your beliefs (S1. Beyond Reason).
» + I do not need this pain.
Arrive here and you will thrive.
+ Are you willing to let go of the pain.
Just feel. This is your will over your need (for pain).
» + Let go of “why, why, why”.
Sometimes just look at what you are feeling versus what you are thinking (why).
Note: I’m creating all this stuff (process) sometimes I wonder ‘why’. Maybe that is the “why” to let go of. Has this process changed my life and is that enough reason to create it?
+ What other reason is there?
As you start to create this same question may evolve in you.
» + You are not really switched on.
Flip the switch, release the wall of mediocrity. Bring the energy: don’t accept the mediocrity, don’t accept their mediocrity (sometimes cynicism). It’s easy to blame (them) are you willing to work on you, to do the work?
+ Break the cycle of existence, mediocrity.
Break free from (of) the haze of mediocrity. Allow the will to thrive to overcome the mediocrity.
Note: These words meant nothing to me. After missing many opportunities (and spending time alone) I finally embraced the work, lived and smiled. This was the being of the frustration (energy of) and releasing (of) the fear. To let go of the perception I had of myself (likely learned) and to live.
Possibly you are switched on, see how this text is written for the larger audience. We are not going for the shock value with this statement, we are trying to bring your attention (The You, the internal you) to the fore.
» There can be a (negative) lack of will causing pain.
Without will or a low will there is pain. Life is moving, fast at times and without will it typically overwhelms. There can be many reasons for feeling overwhelmed with the degree of your will being one of them.
» Taking the chance doesn’t guarantee you success, it only creates the opportunity (possibility) for success.
Why not take a chance? You possibly can go back to what you were doing, you can’t go back to (the) time. Remembering always how time (S5. Time) is moving; if you don’t take that chance then that time is gone, if you take the chance that time is gone. Some are scared of success, rightfully so. Don’t underestimate it (success). Success will push you out of your comfort zone, we maybe know this and unconsciously hold back our success?
When you receive everything you want then new challenges will come. The success will always create opportunities for evolving. A lack of success creates opportunities for evolving. You are going to evolve or struggle no matter what. Why not succeed (S12. Focus on the Positive).
Declare: The success is me, I am the success.
It’s not need that is driving success (S1. Success) it’s will, your will. The need only drives lessons, possibly something to change. Something positive may come of the need yet is a product of the lesson not your will and there was likely pain through the event.
Note: Imagine a terrible situation and someone coming out of it. The easy drive, desire to live could be seen (come) as a result of this situation, that is not will. Will is wanting to live because you want to live (not the product of the situation). That drive was always there, it wasn’t the challenge that created it, it was creation (God) that created it in you. Created the opportunity (for you) to cultivate (your will).
Or maybe you are noticing the pain of all those missed opportunities. This can drive you to thriving. It’s the pain yes but ultimately it takes your will. Your will pulls you out of the pain rather than the pain motivating you to…(receive those things you previously missed). This is why (if you will) the pain continues on and on until you change, until your will changes (becomes predominant).
Imagine someone who’s situation changes and they are forced to find another situation. Need can be seen as the driver here (not will). And they find a new situation to sustain life. You might question will yet follow them for a bit longer and that driver might show again and again. Will helps to ease some of this pain, not a guarantee “nothing bad will ever happen” simply helps to ease the pain. Then you start to get into how you are through various life situations, the how becomes the enjoyable part over the situation while both matter.
Motivation:
» + Notice how (your) will is distinctly different than motivation.
Will elicits a feeling of happiness, motivation can call on excitement (S9. Happy) and need. Excitement can lead to nervousness and bad habits coming to the fore. The Expression asks you to pause (momentarily) to notice your will and your motivation. It’s possible to notice each separately. Will becomes a feeling, motivation typically the product of a reason.
» Will is different than commitment.
You may continue to do something that you committed to yet is against your will. This isn’t always an activity, it can be a thought too. Eventually you see it’s primarily the thoughts that are at odds with your will. See too how motivation is typically external things, will is of you. Then will takes on a presence inside you. We are slowly defining where will resides, external, internal, essence, you…
Note: Then you are to connect in with your will? You will know.
» Let the beauty of this world be your motivation.
Then allow (S5. Allow) that spark of beauty to be more than motivation. Allow the beauty of this world to inspire you and then through your will go live. Ultimately will we see the movement away from motivation and to inspiration (S5. Inspiration)?
+ If you want to create, yes (you will).
Note: If your goal is a better this or that then motivation is fine. If you’ve felt the questions, that feeling deep inside that something is amiss then inspiration is your path. With your will as the vehicle you create.
» When you shy away from life… will.
Strengthen your will. You may not notice the times during yet for some they are there. Little moments where you might shy away from (the full expression of) life. Then awareness of those moments becomes your inspiration (beyond motivation, beyond regret).
Note: You may be right there in your life, living until a moment happens. Say your credit card is not working, where do you go? Nervous, look down, worry, embarrassed. It’s just the machine, life nudging your will to the surface.
Choice:
» + The will to live is your choice, nurture that will.
When we look at to live in the Practice we refer to things like: thriving, being out in the world (your definition) free of fear, freedom to be. The situation will always be what it will be. How you react, act through it is will, choice. As your will increases your choices change (evolve) and you decisively affect more of your situation.
Note: We use situation singularly above to bring to your attention the present one. Many different situations (and moments) through life yet the one that matters is the one occurring now-presently (S9. Presence).
» Am I strong enough?
You are, the question, choice is:
+ Will you be strong enough.
Will is the choice you make. You choose to enhance your will (strength). Does it change things for you to know you are strong enough? To know you have a choice to be strong enough or not. Embrace your will to thrive knowing you are strong enough.
Let go of why-why-why. It’s easy to get lost in “why” (S2. Why). “Why then didn’t I act on that opportunity”, “why didn’t I do it the time before”, “why will it be different this time”? Because you are going to strengthen (remember) your will…
Note: To me this suggest the strength, energy is there and through your will you tap in to it, release it to use. It’s not always that something has to come, at times it’s what has to be let go of (Source 2 Shadow) to act…
» It takes over me… will.
Use your will, notice your will.
Do you notice when it happens, when it takes you over and you loose consciousness, loose you? Some indicators are needing to distract from the present moment. Nervousness, typically anxiety as well and justifying too. Fear is also an indicator, typically affecting the way you handle (are through) a situation.
» Will is the opposite of victim?
+ No, victim is victim, will is will. They are opposing energies (choices to make).
Opposing defines with the sentiment of them being in conflict with one another. It’s a subtle difference than opposite. They are not at opposite ends of a spectrum, they coexist (at times inside of you) and vie for energy (supremacy). Your use of victim (mentality) is destroying your will. As you release victim your will becomes stronger, there is less conflict inside you. The internal conflict is causing pain, sometimes all the way to illness.
Realize how your victim mentality is opposing your (will) thriving. The victim mentality is opposite your thriving, in a sense you are choosing to be a victim taking energy from your thriving. See how you are (internally) choosing to be a victim for a lot of your life.
Note: We put will in brackets above before thriving to highlight (and place in your consciousness) how your will and your thriving are directly related and the same. Your inherent will is thriving. We talk of victim being the opposite of your will to thrive. Here we talk of victim opposing (your) will. Living the victim mentality opposes will, victim is the opposite of thriving. Live into this understanding and take a step forward in knowing (S4. To Know) the work and yourself.
+ Remember who you are.
» Will is opposing the forces of regret, ego and thought.
All can be at opposition to your will. Even discipline in a way is opposing your will (ultimately). Discipline seems like will yet it’s a method (not will). Why does it matter? Because you want to (are to) free yourself. Discipline is not free (S2. Discipline).
» Ultimatums are the will of the ego.
When you arrive at the place of ultimatums consider if your view of the situation is “hopeless”? When giving an ultimatum (to another, to yourself, E1. Unnecessary Declarations) are your actions your own, in alignment with how you would like to be? Possibly the ego is driving the ship. What choice will you make in the moment, this is decided by your will, which comes down to You or the ego.
» It takes your will to elicit (the change to) discipline, motivation, inspiration from complacency, mediocrity.
The ego embraces complacency and mediocrity through fear. So if you are using discipline realize your will is (partly) coming to the surface.
» It takes will to elicit hope.
To let go of the hopelessness. You may also receive inspiration (be inspired) from the external yet your will is there to make it stick essentially, to bring the inspiration to action.
» Declaring your will is the same as in E2. Alignment, I can do this…
Will is primarily about your actions here in the Universe with your connection playing a part. It’s all connected yet some parts more prominent here in the Universe in how they play out.
» It’s my will to not chase.
And receive. In essence you choose to not chase. The situations may (always) be there yet it’s how you react (the choice you make in the moment) that determine your life path. Deciding not to chase and to receive takes will.
» Will and receiving, connected yet (there are) other factors.
You can work tremendously hard towards your goal yet not receive. Work for (and get) yes but not receive (unearned). Will is part of it yet not all of it. Will takes you to the path of worth (S4. Worthy), you then choose (S10. Choice) to step on and live worthy.
Will and Worthy: more = more.
Will and Guilt: less = more.
Will and Thoughts: more = less.
» Choice and will connect.
Your will is the choice (and then provides choices).
Your choice is will (you choose to be, to nurture your will).
Permission:
» Giving yourself permission is your will.
Permission never comes from the ego. The way the ego “convinces” you to do something is not permission, not the permission that comes from You (S11. The You). This is the duality, the battle we each are living internally. The ego telling you (convincing) and The You allowing you to (permission).
What is beyond giving? Allowing.
Beyond as in closer to the action of living. Still though allowing is allowing and action is action (both Source 5 Topics).
It might seem a bit contradictory but allowing is not permission. You in essence give yourself permission and this allows you to… Permission is given through (by) your will. See (E3. Intention, Permission).
» Give yourself permission to live…
This is your will (to thrive). It may seem odd that you have to give yourself permission to live. You start to make the connection of how you are not in “control” of your own life (lacking autonomy). You are living out this dualistic battle with the body and your consciousness (plus karma) being the victim or saint.
» + Laughter (smile) will ground you.
Allow it to, a form of permission (you give yourself through the act of joy).
» It’s stopping you… (engage your) will.
It being complacency, mediocrity. Your action? Likely to distract, hesitate followed by more complacency. It takes your will to overcome each of these. Give yourself the permission through your will.
Action:
» Change how you see the moment, change how you are through the moment.
This is the action of your will (internally). This action is the releasing of victim.
Note: For instance say you are trying to make a decision and not sure. Your will helps you in these moments. Sometimes your will takes you to the path of meditation to find solutions (answers and peace).
» The more important it becomes to you.
Recognize this includes will too. Do you keep missing opportunities… will. Try some energy (action) here. The more important will, thriving is to you the more you will receive towards it, opportunities too.
Note: I read this as my will becomes stronger the more life unfolds as per my will. Then will connects to your intention (S5. Intention). When your will is wishy-washy you may notice your life has a sort of ambivalence to it, there is pain there is joy. Stronger will yields more joy.
This includes your will to not take part in habits (bad) that are not serving you. Allow it to be important to you to move beyond these actions. This strengthens your will allowing you to move forward more inline with how you would like to be (S10. Need to Service).
» You have to want to live.
Otherwise you sit around complaining, crying all day. The beauty of life, how to hold it?
+ Action.
Your actions are the direct result of your will measured against your ego and the influence of the collective on your thoughts. Beyond want is you open to embracing life (all of what comes your way).
» Living through what life has to offer.
On this Planet there is suffering and you will likely witness it (in person, online) and that is life. This can demotivate (even depress) yet time is moving and you have to want to live. This takes your will. You sat there feeling bad for something that happened, possibly thousands of miles away from you, did it help that situation or you?
To feel sad is empathy but you are to live to. What’s the balance? This questions takes your will over your complacency, will over justification. In a sense there is a time and a place for everything, perhaps that time and place has come and gone and it’s time to move (on)? Knowing when (S4. To Know) is the balance.
» Slowing it down is the action of your will.
In essence this is presence. It’s our will to notice the present moment, to live in the present moment. This is not to wait, not to hesitate. Primarily to pause the (unwanted) thoughts not your actions.
Note: I was eating this wonderful sandwich way too fast and noticed this Expression. The action was not to eat slower but to deeply enjoy the moment, in this case the flavors of the sandwich how fast or slow irrelevant.
» Will is the opposite of waiting.
Your will is to overcome the hesitation, to break free of mediocrity and need for distractions.
Note: Your friends can go talk to that person over there for you, eventually you have to be the one to walk over and say “hi, my name is…”. This is your will.
» From need to can to will.
What do I need to change to say yes to… the relationships, (your life)?
What can I change to say yes to… the relationships, (your life)?
What am I willing to change to say yes to… the relationships, the stuff, (your life)?
The first line is that sort of desperation. The second line is to be honest with yourself and look at what you can change. Stoping some of your bad habits is a place you could (can) change. Including realizing what they are and being open to help in your journey to free yourself. Then onto that which you are willing to change. You action (S5. Action) is the changing. Realizing these changes is your will (realize as in make a reality of). It’s almost as if you simply see the wonderfulness of this world (and only the wonder). You don’t enjoy others suffering (or your own) you simply see the wonder (opportunity) in all of it. This is your will experiencing empathy.
When we speak of relationships in the Practice this includes all relationships. Your relationships with people with the practical world (the stuff, things) and the spiritual world. Relationship (S6. Relationships) in essence is you interacting with life at the various levels.
Will you spend even just a few moments answering these three questions followed by your discovered actions. Will you?
Note: For me I looked at the actions as: I need to be able to make a decision without it being a whole event (what am I doing today). I can change my diet, stop waiting/hesitating which leads to rushing (a form of sabotaging) and be a bit more efficient with my time. I am willing to changemy enthusiasm for life to be engaged and focused (thus releasing victim mentality, that thought of “I can’t”) realizing it’s ok to be happy. It’s to live with more enthusiasm for life, less distracted time, recognize my worth and smile were easy (to do) answers.
To declare: May I strengthen my will and live out my discovered actions.
A willingness To Feel:
» When the (your) will becomes a feeling that’s when the receiving starts (and grows from).
You can feel it inside you. It’s not about all these questions of: “how do I do this”, “figure out that”, it-is-a-feeling. The change comes from within once you realize this feeling. Then connection happens (you live connected). You already feel it with “fear”, why not strengthen your will and feel the other side of life…
Will you pause for a second to know and feel this Expression. Rather than critique or a thought, really pause and feel. When you can do this even just once you can change (S5. Change) your life. Excitement is not will, complacency is not will. At the early stages of the work you may feel tension and chaos as you are pulled in two (or more) directions driven by the ego, fear and collective.
Note: I had a chance at one point in my life to pursue a dream and didn’t. I could say this or that but really the victim mentality of guilt and feeling unworthy were more prevalent than the will. Taking responsibility for my life I would say I just didn’t have it. After doing some work that feeling of will returned. For me, standing by the water would elicit the feeling and the spark, the gusto for life. It took my will (plus worthy) to bring it to reality. I didn’t realize what a big part the writing was of all this.
At first it might be about not letting them (S2. Them) stop you or “I”m gonna”. When it changes to a feeling true results occur. Your will is predominantly a feeling driving action. Notice too this is not to shut your brain off completely, this is to work in conjunction with all that is available to you simultaneously while filtering out the unwanted information (thoughts and distractions).
» Will you allow yourself to feel. A true feeling.
Start with the idea of; + Self love is space as your foundation.
Declare: I’m open to some support.
+ When you feel this you will be.
The receiving is the space.
Act towards the idea of; I am the space (not the answer). Be the space (S11. Space), allow the answer to come. Essentially will you open the space to receive. Will you open the space to receive. Be the receiving (space). This is to open to a greater life.
Note: Rushing through your life is not self love. Chasing is not self love. Pushing, pulling, manipulating are not self love. You may profit from but not receive through those actions.
» Will it into being.
To will it into existence. First understand will, then feel (your) will. Onto existence of (your dreams)… You can see this as to will it into You (your being, S7. Essence). To will it into being includes the step of allowing yourself to be (S6. Stillness).
The opportunities are coming, are you noticing them?
Note: I feel like I was noticing them yet not acting on them… action (S5. Action).
» My will is to create.
State this as if to define your will.
Your will is defined as? The answer is likely connected to how you see yourself. One way the work changes you is the way you see yourself, this is how you are out in the world.
Note: At one point I realized it was something to the effect of: nervous, rushing, hopeless, unworthy.
» Autonomy, it’s always your right (will) to feel good.
This is the choice you can make with your will. Regardless of the situation.
» A willingness To Feel takes vulnerability.
Living vulnerable (S9. Vulnerable) you enhance your will to feel.
» Live your will and connection.
Live out a willingness to feel through action. Express your will through action. Action is your will coming to light.
» Will is a feeling beyond the word.
Realize this to strengthen your will.
» Will you allow God to be as God is.
When you try to change someone (against their will) you essentially are trying to change God. God allows them to be as they are (the will of God) will you too?
Note: One easy way is to ask first. Ask before giving that advice, recommendation. Yet even this isn’t a guarantee especially if there is an underlying of manipulation. Ask rather than tell, this helps your karma.
» + I am the will of God.
Recognize this in yourself… when this means something to you so to will life and the fear will subside. It’s easy to say this, put it out there. Imagine this as true for a moment and live it. This likely will enhance your feeling of worth.
» I am the will of God, for the Formless (S1. Totality). You are in alignment with God’s will.
Note: How does that sit with you, to believe you are in alignment with God’s will? This causes you to “think” (possibly contemplate) about what is God’s will, beyond what you have read in some publication.
» It’s easy to blame God, the Universe when you are not living.
It’s up to you to live fearlessly. You can get help yet you (your will) are to try (too).
See S2. Fear; God and the Universe are not going to help you with fear.
.». Examples
Sometimes in the simplest things you find the most power: brushing your teeth before laying down to watch a movie, dishes before dessert, feeling guilt after dessert. First look for and notice these moment where you shy away from the activity or feel guilt. Then awareness of the feeling (during). This is where you will notice and strengthen your will.
I found at one point I thought I was depressed yet I was still continuing to do many things in my life. I didn’t quite feel depressed or glum I just didn’t feel great. After some time working with the Practice and help from others it came to me that I had lost my will to thrive. I like some was not aware of the will to thrive. I was stuck in mediocrity. I wasn’t accepting the norm yet I wasn’t open to success either, I was squarely in mediocrity (S2. Mediocrity).
I noticed there was nothing stopping me (during certain opportunities) from embracing them except my will (versus the thoughts, perceptions). I could blame, I could regret but plain and simple the opportunity was there and I did not act on it. Hard to say it out loud but that is for me (to change)…
I was working a job that was literally killing me. At the end of a 60 hour week I was depleted, feeling ill and worn down. Finally I was fired. I never thought to change something, I was just stuck in the situation. Where was my will in those moments? The situation persisted for an entire year but yet I never questioned anything. And if you looked at it, had I looked after myself and cut off at 40 hours per week I likely would have been fired. I worked 60 hours per week and was fired. Of course it’s easy to look back in hindsight. In a way that is the point of the work so you don’t look back in regret and rather make informed choices on a regular basis.
When you justify your (present) situation, especially using the “it could be worse” method where you then compare to others (and other situations) where it is worse (perception) chances are you have lost (maybe never had) your will to thrive. Some are content to live a good (decent) life bouncing around, near, above existence in mediocrity. Is this what you are willing to accept? You get what you are willing to accept.
For some, they are so busy, this could be a product of past choices, so what to do? Feel bad, regret those past choices and declare it hopeless, not possible? No, of course not but its not so easy to just change your life. When the day starts at 5AM and ends at 11PM, where is the time to change your life to come from? Ask for help, start here. Ask who? Ask… You may have to dig deep, will it be worth it? That’s the choice of your life (S10. Choice). You have to decide that you want to live, you decide to go!
None of it is easy, it’s all a product of how strong you are compared to what you like to do, be. Life is difficult, you likely already know this, accept it and move forward strongly. Say someone was to give you everything you want, now you have to deal with that. Initially it may seem like life is great and easy, eventually something will catch up with you, maybe your consciousness. Then you will see how difficult life is, embrace this and live a life of joy. Maybe no one gives you anything, that’s hard (too). Embrace life, embrace the hardness of it rather than trying to find the easy way out.
I wondered do I now disagree and feel it can be easy, wonderful, beautiful? Hard is not the opposite of wonderful, beautiful. Imagine someone dealing with guilt who finds it difficult to relax, they literally find it difficult to do nothing. The only way life is easy is when not living. And then it becomes hard to break free of the mediocrity, sitting, waiting, complaining.
Sometimes it’s as simple as I’m tired and ok I’ll hang out a little longer or I’m tired and I’m going home. Recognizing what’s best for you in the moment is will too. “I’m going home because it’s my bed time” is more pattern (likely discipline) than will. S5. Inspiration speaks to recognizing (and subsequently living) the difference between discipline and inspiration.
I met someone heavily involved in politics, specifically the negative of it. They could spew out comment after comment about what the other party was doing “wrong”. Yet talking to them, in their late forties they had no idea what to do with their own life (and appeared to not be ok with this) and struggling to change. How might this balance change were they to strengthen their will?
It’s not that this other interest isn’t important, it’s that they seemed lost in so much of what was happening around them and unable to focus on their own life. Their life seemed so far out of balance and that it almost wasn’t a choice (to them) where their focus (S5. Focus) was. Through awareness of the imbalance were they to look for help, look for support they may find it in changing their will (putting energy here). If you wonder “why” to do this work, look at your own life, how is it possibly out of balance due to choices you are making, not making that would change with your will?
A willingness to feel (you having) is an intention of this work. Through doing the work and subsequently being the work you may notice an increase in your (a) willingness to feel. If I were to pinch your arm pretty much no matter where you are on your journey you will feel that. The idea behind feeling (S4. To Feel) goes much deeper than the physical, deeper than skin deep if you will.
The time you spend on the work will be rewarded through feeling. Situations in the past that were routine and typical will transform as you do the work and you will notice the energy of those moments. You will feel those moments.
Note: It’s kind of like being three quarters of the way through your first beer. All of a sudden it’s not so bad, that song sounds great, yes let’s stay a little longer. This is a bit like To Feel where the edge comes off and life softens just a bit.
Look at walking into a coffee shop, something you maybe do daily. Before doing the work (for some) you walk in, inspect the line in relation to the amount of time you have and where you are to be in the future, look at your phone, look back at the line. As you do and be the work one day, likely unexpectedly, you will walk into that same coffee shop and there it is. This feeling comes over you of how precious (magnificent) life is, how wonderful this possibility of receiving coffee, tea and pastries are. Your life will make sense, possibly only for that moment.
Note: It’s kind of like those first moments of being with that new person when it’s all just clicking and wonderful. That feeling is available beyond the situation. It’s there now internally buried deep beneath all your unwanted thoughts.
Allow that feeling to be your motivation (then inspiration) for continuing on the journey of doing the work, of living. Let that moment flourish and become moments (S9. Noticing) then a lifestyle (S5. Lifestyle) and the living meditation (S7. Living Meditation). Recognize it is of your will… to feel. To align with the Expression (A willingness to feel) is for you to realize it’s up to you. Your willingness to feel will determine how much you feel, how much you let in. A willingness to feel is serving of your Being.
Note: For myself on this journey I have noticed a greater willingness to feel. In honesty it’s brought up the fear more too. It was always there under the surface causing me to live half a life. To transcend that fear takes my will.
.». Summary
The focus of this topic is rather than only looking for your problems to go away that you place your attention on strengthening your will. As your will (to thrive) increases your situations will change. Living it (your will) is the way each moment. Live it here-now so you will show up there-then.
