Surrender (S12. Surrender)

Source 12  There is Nothing to Figure Out

  Surrender

.».  Opening
How does it feel (to you) the idea to surrender your pain to God, that God is there to take your pain for you?  Deeper into this idea is to surrender your need for pain, to let go of your needing the pain.
There may be pain in your life possibly an issue or situation, the key is to surrender your need for (that) pain.  Surrendering your need for pain is beyond the issue or situation and is the true path to releasing pain from your being.  To surrender your need for pain is to let go of using pain as a way to feel and is the true evolving.  The place to let go of that pain to is God…  Surrender your pain to peace, surrender your pain to God.
Note:  There are those who embrace the idea of “never surrender never give up”.  Surrender in the process is to embrace the idea of God being there for you in your moment of pain.  In the process to not give up is courage which relates to connection.

.».  The Ethos of Surrender
» When there is need and you can’t figure it out… surrender.
       When there is pain… surrender.
In your most trying moment be the most relaxed you have ever been.
Surrender the thought, surrender the worry, surrender the fear… surrender.
Surrender to prayer if you feel yet be relaxed.
       The most relaxed ever.
If the prayer is of pain then that’s S8. Prayer of Protection, S8. Prayer of Need.
When the prayer is of peace… surrender (you are surrendering).
       Surrender your need for pain.
This goes beyond the issue at hand.
While relaxed smile (mean it, be relaxed).
Some light movement can be helpful.
Don’t do the movement you think, do the movement you feel.
May be like stretching but with the intention to relax (not stretch).
If you still want the drama, pain, then you have not surrendered (to peace).
Ask it as a question do I want that (pain)?
You may feel you need it (the pain) but do you want it?
You may not answer this question, your smile may be the answer.
Feel it, feel your answer… surrender (you are surrendering).
Note:  At first I would lay down and practice this work.  Through time I had the feeling to surrender whenever, wherever, however.  So sitting at my desk typing, could I practice this Topic, will I (S11. Your Will)?
In your most trying moment be the most relaxed you have ever been:  Relaxed is not slouching, to slouch or contract can be to give up (to the need, pain).  To relax is to yield to the courage (S5. Courage) received through surrendering and speaks to the internal feeling in your Being.  Realize the worry does not help or serve a purpose.  Yes the situation may be blowing up… relax.  This doesn’t mean no action, relaxed and doing can go together.  You might see it as to calmly move towards changing your life…

.».  To Practice
» A conversation, my ask.
Will you take this pain for me from me.
† Will you surrender it (the pain) to me.
Your declaration is: I surrender my pain to you.
This is not the only way to surrender your need (S10. Without Need of Pain) for pain.  With any of the Practice and your life you are to evolve beyond the words to feeling.  Feel your pain to God, God feels your surrendering and responds in kind (feeling the heavens to you).

» You sit down to surrender your pain and nothing happens.
Nothing in your life changes.  To surrender your pain to God takes a certain amount of belief and on to faith, faith that God is there (for you).  You may say “of course I believe in God”.  Then why is it not working?  The easy path is to blame the Practice, yet he Practice aside do you believe God will take your pain for you?  If that is not how it works then how do you feel it works?  Contemplating this idea is a way of surrendering, you are deciding how you would like to surrender your (need for) pain coupled with the awareness (S1. Awareness) that you need the pain.  Consider if you have (truly) given up your need for the pain…

.».  Expressions
Releasing your need (for pain):
» I surrender my pain to you.
Surrender the source of your pain, this has a deeper effect.  Discovering your life disbelief  (S11. Your Life Disbelief) may help in discovering the likely deeper source of the pain.
Note:  For me the surface pain is hesitation, life events, missed opportunities, unsatisfied eating.  The source of the pain is hopelessness and feeling unworthy (S4. Worthy).
» To surrender your need for pain is to ask God for help.
Surrendering your pain is one way to ask, an action you can take (S6. The Ask, » Surrender your pain to God).
» Do I still need the pain, do I still want the pain.
Spirit will take your pain for you only when you surrender your need for the pain to love.  This is the antipathy of faith (choosing pain over love).  You may not know love yet (deeply) and to give up the pain to give up how you feel (S2. Using Pain to Feel) can be disconcerting and scary.  The pain on one level is comforting as it legitimizes the victim mentality (S2. Victim Mentality).
Some may wonder why would I have an aversion to faith?  Faith is the letting go of control.  Letting go of control releases the ego freeing yourself, deepening your relationships (S6. Relationships).  Through these deeper relationships you feel supported, through the support you allow yourself to open up the space for more faith and the cycle continues…

Action:
» See God in everything, especially your pain.
This is to surrender, breathe into this feeling.  The acknowledging of God is the releasing of the pain.  » Let all the Pain leave your Body and in this Transcendent state you will Know God.
Note:  This is different than thinking God is the source of the pain or thinking about the pain as a way to explain it.
» The pain is always there.
Existing there in society (S11. Collective).  Surrender your pain (S11. The You) when you’ve had enough, awareness that you have had enough (S3. Awareness).  Don’t try to surrender their pain, that’s not your responsibility.  Compassion is the way, for you for them (compassion for you too, remember this).
» Don’t surrender to the pain, surrender the pain.
When the pain is overwhelming (situation, pain) surrender the pain.  Can you (will you) feel the peace replacing the pain, the need for pain?
» You control it all yet you are to let go of control through surrender.
You control your life through your connection to the Universe (S5. Universal Connection).  You control it all negatively too.  Letting go of attaching to the negative (victim mentality) is a way to change how you are controlling it.  Sometimes that negative is your perception of the function of the Universe, of it “all”.
You can also release control through surrender.  You might wonder; “If I control it all why would I want to release control”?  Because you don’t understand it all.  There is a gap between what you “think” is possible and what you know (S4. To Know) is possible.  As that gap closes you can surrender to the wisdom of the Universe, the strength of God.
You might see all as a bit strong.  The all we are referring to is you.  Your outside environment is affected by many variables, it’s unlikely you will be able to move continents.  You can though decide how you: feel in a moment, how you react (or not), how you judge (or not), how you heal your life.  Ultimately you don’t want to control, this letting go (of control) is the journey.

.».  Summary
What does surrender mean to you?  Beyond reason (S1. Beyond Reason) what does surrender feel like to you?  Eventually surrender becomes less about what you are giving up to what you are receiving…  The intention of surrendering is receiving (opening the space to receive).  Deeper in what would receiving feel like to you?
Note:  To me surrender is a form of support (S3. Support).
One day you may be reading something or sitting there and just like that realize, it worked.  Not in the moment of surrendering in the moment of your life when you are more than the pain (need).  Something may come into your life (love) and it’s then you realize what is no longer there (the need, the pain).
       Surrender to the receiving.
