   Inspiration

.».  Opening
Truly what is inspiration.  It’s external yet from within.  You almost have to let go of it being something you understand… when you find it you will know.  When logic has left you (empty), the frustration is mounting and thinking has not worked… open to inspiration to act.
Discipline, motivation, inspiration; all can lead to action at times, different types of action.  The action may come from structure (discipline) through anger (motivation), may come from the heart (inspiration).  Aspiration can exist there just before inspiration, aspiration may be the (actual) idea to create.  Inspiration creates action (in you).

.».  To Practice
» There is a flow or journey you can go on around discipline, motivation, inspiration and then living inspired (E3Inspired).
Discipline is about getting something done plain and simple.  You may feel good after (its done) but the time during may not have been enjoyable or present.
Motivation is about the reward also typically after and at times fueled by what you want to get away from (the negative).
Inspiration at it’s root is about being inspired to live all of life.
              Then inspired by (from) them.
              Inspired by you (S11The You).
Inspired, this greatest inspiration (from connection).
One exercise is to look at which mode (without a plan or intention, discipline, motivation, inspiration, inspired) you are living the moments of your life?  It’s not an all or nothing, more of an ebb or flow.  See if you can live more of those inspired moments….  Practically this would look like embracing opportunities, both the ones that you already realize and new ones you haven’t thought of through your will (S11Your Will) and shifting your focus to the positive (S12. Focus on the Positive).

» When fighting your life there is no inspiration.
At the initial shift to inspiration there may be excitement, rushing.  This is the contrast of the ego (from complacency to rushing, both can be ego).  Go a little deeper into the inspiration and find the joy in the moments (including the moments leading up to that which is inspiring you).  You can Practice presence now (away from that which you aspire to).
Note:  You might like to ponder why there is no inspiration in your life?  The block to your inspiration could be hopelessness, could be worthy, could be your specific life disbelief (S11. Life Disbelief).

.».  Expressions
Inspiration is not:
» Anger is a block to inspiration.
Anger doesn’t inspire, at best only motivates.
» Anger Typically leads to burnout when used as motivation to “change your life”.
When you reach the point of anger, possibly the frustration (S1. Frustration) is overwhelming.  Look at your action (S5Action) being to open the space for your inspiration rather than doing something driven by the anger.  No matter what though put that energy into something (a hobby, scream into a pillow), don’t allow the anger to bottle up inside you.  Recognize the anger, allow it to flow through and go be your inspiration.  The gift of the anger (and frustration) is something is not working in your life and the cue to find your inspiration.
Note: Anger is the reminder to shift your focus to the positive (to inspiration).  The anger is there as awareness.  “But they are…”, they are only a reminder to find (open the space for) your inspiration.
» See how inspiration differs from motivation in every way, commitment too.
Someone with headphones singing loudly on the bus may motivate you to change seats, get off the bus.  Hearing how beautiful their voice is may inspire you to sing as well, possibly to take more chances to put yourself out there (in your life).  Beyond taking a chance is the courage (S5Courage).
» Inspiration is not commitment.
Commitment is closer to “need to” do something, inspiration is who you are (deep inside) coming to the surface and the accompanying action.
There is a connection of discipline to need (S10. Need) as well.  When you live from a place of need (“I need a new boat”), you elicit discipline as your way to achieve this plan and you get (a boat) living a lifestyle (S5Lifestyle) of need.  Seems ok at first but there are other ways to live, be.  You may start to realize you were not present during the disciplined moments and if the boat breaks say something like “I worked so hard for this and now it’s broken”.  You may become aware you didn’t live the time working for the boat, you are now not living the time with the boat.  Deeper in the awareness is you are not living much of your time.
» Pain is not inspiration.
Pain can motivate yet not inspire.  Discipline typically is centered around pain.
Inspiration will take work, no one is saying it will be easy.  Less stress, less confusion (pain) yet still work (S5. Action).

Them:
» What inspires me are the actions of others, their dedication to their dream.
Allow this witnessing to open up the inspiration inside you.  Noticing them (S2. Them) look how wonderful they are at that, is great but nothing happens, nothing changes for you.  Find it from within.
» Focusing on (them) you are not living worthy.
Notice them focus on you… on inspiration.
You can declare: + Living out my worth is my inspiration.  (S4Worthy).
» It’s not something (permission) they give you.  You find it within.
They can spark, inspire, say you can do it ultimately it comes from you (the permission and action).

Moment:
» The details, the moment.
Inspiration is dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s… presently.  Through inspiration you don’t have to come back and do it again.  You may come back and do it differently (that’s different).
This includes not having to go back to be sure you locked the door, turned off the stove, etc.  When living inspired you have that sort of locked in feeling, you are not interested in second guessing yourself or creating situations to second guess yourself.  The focus is on living and moving (you, your life and your projects) foreword.
» The moment is becoming my inspiration.
The way I make my morning coffee, the way I write this Practice…  The dream may be off in the distance yet it’s the moment, this moment (S9Noticing Moments) that will get you there.
Notice the hot tea on a cold rainy day.  You may want to open your own coffee business or brewery yet taste that one sip of tea here now before your dream.  In time you see these moments really are the dream and the dream (S10To Dream) becomes these moments.  It’s less about owning your own business and more about noticing putting the key to the lock to the door of your coffee shop (home, apartment, car, all your relationships both internal and external)…  The steps, one after another are the life, manifestation of the dream.

Action:
» Allowing is a key piece to inspiration.
See how allowing (the inspiration to flow) is something you do (S5. Allow).
» Inspiration over reason.
When there is something you want allow it to be the inspiration for your actions rather than the reason (S1. Reason) for your actions.  This way you live all your life.  Living this out is the moving away from doing something purely to get something (S2To Get Something) and rather doing it to do it, to live life (all of it).
» Can trust be my inspiration?
Yes, trust and faith.  The act of you trusting (S10. Trust) is you living out your inspiration.
» Is being an inspiration creating?
+ Yes, you create the inspiration in others (S1. Do Be Create).  This is a gift to the world (your inspiring them).
Note:  For example those who post videos on YouTube (cooking recipes, sailing, traveling in their van or RV) are creating inspiration in others.  For me enough so that I’ve felt grateful and donated money to them.
» Inspiration is part of your relationship with the Universe.
Inspiration is all about action, here, now.  The actions you take here in the Universe.
» Inspiration to action.
       Inhale then act…
Inspiration leads to action (when a complete act).  This action is different than being Inspired.

From Inspiration to Inspired:
» Inspiration is about taking in an external impulse (from a person, Being or thing) and allowing it to inspire you to act.  Living out that action (and) as a connected Being is to live inspired (EIInspired).
» Yet inspiration comes from within.
Give yourself permission (E3Intention, » Permission) to be Inspired by seeking out-allowing the connection.
» You may start to notice the connection of inspiration to inspired (is) noticing the connection of the practical to and from the spiritual.

.».  Examples
While creating this Practice the end date for the book was continually moving out.  I received some advice to set a deadline.  Walking away (essentially from the advice) the idea came I don’t want to be motivated by a deadline to write this book.  My intention (S5. Intention) is that I am to be inspired through the creating of the work (this takes space).  Creating this work for me encapsulated the ebb and flow journey we go on of without intention, discipline, motivation, inspiration and inspired.
After a number of years of working on the process I realized ‘I’d rather create something than create nothing’.  Better to create something than nothing… as long as the time creating that something means something to you (me).

.».  Summary
Ultimately inspiration is a feeling you allow.  You may witness them performing on stage or a sport, possibly working at a job that you would like to.  They could be coming out of (surviving) something similar, this all acts as the impulse for your feeling (inspires).  You then choose to act, choose to allow yourself to live connected (to be inspired, to feel).
